Why do you enjoy being an instructor at Eleven Fifty?
I really enjoy seeing students grow from having little to no programming knowledge at the start of class to being confident developers when they graduate. I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I came to EFA as a student and I love helping other students go through the process of discovering a new career.
Tell us about your background in Tech.
I attended EFA’s part-time Software Development class in 2019. I came from a sales background and had no experience in development. I knew I wanted to get into the tech industry but I hadn’t really considered software development until I attended one of EFA’s Intro To Code courses.
When did you know you were interested in Tech?
I’ve always enjoyed using new technology and figuring out how to make it work. I wanted to get into tech because it’s a growing field that isn’t going anywhere and when I attended an intro to code and heard EFA staff talking about why they liked the field, I knew I would enjoy it. I really enjoy the problem solving of having a project and figuring out how I can make it work the way I want it. It’s very satisfying to me.
A fun fact about Michael!
I’m a bit of a Pacers super fan. I had season tickets for several years and still try to watch as many games as I can and attend a few every year.
