Why do you enjoy being an instructor at Eleven Fifty?
First, and I know this is trite, but seeing one’s students develop and succeed really is a priceless experience. Second, through answering questions and explaining material I find I am constantly learning more and more myself. And third, I have never in my life met a more passionate, personable, and all-around fun group of people than the people on this learning team.
Tell us about your background in Tech.
I have a master’s in Logic from the University of Amsterdam, but instead of continuing in academia I decided to take a different path. I’ve been searching for what exactly that is for a few years now and as a part of that ended up attending EFA as a student in 2019. I’m also interested in data science and have attended a bootcamp for that as well.
When did you know you were interested in Tech?
I was always interested in computers and technology, from small gizmos to space shuttles, as a kid. It took me longer than that to get into programming specifically but I’m glad I ended up here.
A fun fact about Eli!
I never intended this but somehow I always end up as the Linux evangelist here at EFA…
