Scott Jones is a veteran of early-stage entrepreneurship, a prolific inventor, an innovative strategist, and a successful venture capitalist. After serving as a Research Scientist at the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Jones founded Boston Technology, a voicemail company that grew to have over 2.5 billion subscribers on its systems worldwide. Subsequently, he was a founder or “heavy lifter” in several companies, including Gracenote (now a major division of Nielsen), ATG (an e-commerce platform which was acquired by Oracle), Precise Path Robotics (autonomous vehicle technology, now core to Stanley Black & Decker/MTD’s robotic lawn care division), ChaCha (a high-performing virtual assistant), and Eleven Fifty Academy, a nonprofit focused on immersive learning in areas such as software development and cybersecurity where he serves an active role as President.
Chief Operations Officer
Dewand’s extensive experience in tech & cybersecurity, cultivating company culture, organizational management and growing strategic initiatives made him the perfect addition to the academy. The majority of his career was spent serving the State of Indiana in various capacities. The last 4 years of his state tenure was spent as Director of the Indiana Office of Technology and the State Chief Information Officer. A role he was appointed to by both Governor Mike Pence and Governor Eric Holcomb. He has held executive committee and director roles on the board for the National Association of State Chief Information Officers and served as an external advisory board member for the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security. He is currently a foundation board member for Goodwill. Neely received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University’s School of Technology and his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Abi has a strong background in human capital and scaling organizations. She had earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Studies from Indiana University Bloomington. Abi is an experienced recruiter and operations professional.
Chief Learning Officer
Dr. Jonathan Blake Huer is an award-winning educator, app developer, and filmmaker. His innovative work at the intersection of learning, technology, and media has earned him international recognition. He is an Apple Distinguished Educator, Adobe Education Leader, twice named a Campus Technology Innovator, and the 2014 Mira Award winner for “Tech Educator of the Year.” Jonathan earned his BA from UCLA in Design, his MFA from USC in Producing, and his EdD in Global Education Leadership from Lamar University as part of an Apple cohort.
Director of Marketing
Kelly has been helping to build better brand experiences for over 15 years by creating and executing upon a variety of strategic marketing initiatives. Her background includes a strong focus on digital marketing & communications for both B2B and B2C businesses and her experience working in start-up environments and within larger corporate marketing teams allows her to bring a unique perspective to Eleven Fifty. She is very passionate about user experience design and has recently achieved her Neilson Norman UX certification. Kelly graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Visual Communications Design.
